Amelia Earhart encouraged women to expand their horizons by exploring occupations and holding positions beyond those traditionally held by women. She was a beloved member of Zonta International before she was lost in the Pacific on a flight attempting to circle the globe by air in 1937. Amelia Earhart’s membership in Zonta was special because this is the only non-flight organization she engaged as a member. In honor of her accomplishments and her spirit of empowering women, the  Zonta Club of Traverse City is offering a $1000.00 scholarship to a woman who is currently enrolled in any Aviation, Marine Technology, Engineering Technology, Unmanned Aerial Systems, STEM program or specialization Associates degrees Program at NMC. A GPA average of 2.5 or higher is required to qualify.

All interested candidates should complete the scholarship application and submit it by November 30, 2016.
